Little Waterhouse Island

Little Waterhouse Island is a small island, with an area of 2.5 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Waterhouse Island Group, lying close to the north-eastern coast of Tasmania. Most of the island is bare rock.[1] The island forms part of the Ninth and Little Waterhouse Islands Important Bird Area (IBA), so identified by BirdLife International because it holds over 1% of the world population of Black-faced Cormorants.[2]

Fauna

As well as Black-faced Cormorants, recorded breeding seabird and wader species are the Little Penguin, Pacific Gull, Silver Gull, Sooty Oystercatcher and Caspian Tern.[1]
